September has arrived, and in Carlsbad, that means one of our favorite times of year: Locals Summer. The summer crowds have headed home, the beaches are a little quieter, and the weather is still perfect—making it the ideal time to enjoy everything we love about our coastal community.
At Club C, we’re celebrating Locals Summer with two wines selected especially for September—bottles that are perfect for lingering over a beautiful late-summer evening with friends.
Join us for our September Club C Wine Pickup Party on September 24th from 5–7 PM and enjoy a taste of this month’s selections, paired with light bites from Chef Mark. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind, mingle with fellow Club C members, and connect with our growing community of local wine lovers.
And if you missed August’s pickup party, you definitely missed a good one! Toni made her famous Drunken Paella to the party to pair with August’s Spanish wine selections, and it was such a hit that she has promised to make it again for an upcoming Club C gathering. So stay tuned!

Club C members are invited to join us for a very special evening as Cbar welcomes legendary winemaker Doug Margerum of Margerum Wine Company for our September Winemaker Dinner, part of Cbar’s exclusive Winemaker Dinner Series.
Straight from the heart of Santa Barbara County, Margerum Wine Company is known for producing exceptional wines that capture the character and beauty of the Central Coast. Among the evening’s selections is the Margerum Riviera Rosé, a perfect wine to sip and savor during Carlsbad’s Locals Summer.
Chef Mark has created a special multi-course menu designed to complement each of Margerum’s wines, creating a thoughtfully curated food and wine experience from start to finish.
Come early for our Meet the Winemaker Mix & Mingle and enjoy a glass of wine while getting to know Doug Margerum, along with Cbar owners Toni Spilsbury and Mike Cusey, before the dinner begins. It’s a wonderful opportunity to hear the stories behind the wines, meet the people who make Cbar special, and mingle with fellow wine lovers.

The series begins with Wine 101, where Kim Kuznitz will guide you through the fundamentals of wine tasting. You’ll learn how to identify key aromas and tasting notes, recognize different grape varietals, and begin connecting the characteristics in your glass to the wine’s region and style.
